About Destiny Kua
Destiny Kua gives you a short, practical feng shui reading for each day, based on your date of birth and calculated from the traditional Chinese calendar.
Why the name
Your Kua Number is called 命卦 (Míng Guà) in Chinese, which translates as "destiny trigram". It links your birth year to one of the eight trigrams and to four good directions for your home. Hence Destiny Kua, and our tagline: your destiny, your Kua.
Who we are
Destiny Kua is an independent project based in Singapore, built and run by one person with a long-standing interest in Chinese metaphysics. I started it because most Chinese-astrology sites either hide their maths behind vague predictions or get the calendar wrong at the year boundary. I wanted one place that shows its working: the exact stem-branch pillars, the Li Chun cut-off and the Eight Mansions formula, all calculated in front of you, with one practical thing to try in your space each day.
How we work
- Calculations first. Every reading starts from real calendar values: stem–branch pillars, Li Chun dates and the Eight Mansions formula. We show the method on each page.
- Clear conventions. We start the year at Li Chun and use the Eight Mansions school for Kua Numbers. Other schools differ, and we say so.
- Tested formulas. Our calendar formulas are tested against known reference dates (for example, 1 October 1949 was a 甲子 day and Li Chun 2025 fell on 3 February). For exact solar-term times, official tables such as the Hong Kong Observatory's remain the authority.
- Your data stays with you. The calculator runs in your browser. Your birth date is never sent to us.
What Destiny Kua is not
Feng shui and BaZi are traditional systems for reflection, not science. Nothing here is medical, financial, legal or professional advice, and we do not predict specific events. If you are making a major decision, talk to a qualified professional.
